Hello! Our names are Emily and Kayla and we are a small, two girl business from a quaint town in Minnesota. We specialize in homemade products that are the result of our love to create and make!
-How our business began-
We started our little business as a fun way to showcase our handmade items in our community when we were in early high school. We started hand sewing for fun when we were about 7 and 5. Not long after, Kayla started creating her own sewing patterns to make stuffed animals, shoes, dresses, and doll clothes. Our creative ventures were always strongly supported by our mother, a high school FACS teacher, who is still a large part of the shop's success.
We started by selling our products at kid business fairs at our local mall, and to friends and family members. It didn't take long for us to figure out that selling to the online world would be a great way to expand our business. We picked out Etsy because, as first time online sellers, we loved the look and ease of the website. Moving to Etsy was a great decision for us! We love packaging up our products and seeing where our mittens and bags end up around the globe!
-How we got our name-
Our shop name actually comes from both of our first names! Emily & Kayla = EAK. After a bit more brainstorming and rhyming of course, we decided to go with
eak boutique!
